🧵🪡 Sew Much Fun Learning About Cotton! 🌱

Our students enjoyed a special visit from Ms. Audrey Young of the Georgia Cotton Commission! She shared her career journey, explained her role at the GCC, explored career opportunities in the cotton industry, and taught students about the importance of choosing natural fibers over synthetic materials. 👕🌿

Then it was time to put their new knowledge to work! 🪡 Students got hands-on experience learning to sew a button and a pocket using cotton thread generously provided by the Georgia Cotton Commission!

A big THANK YOU to Ms. Young for sharing her knowledge and giving our students a fun, practical learning experience! 🧡💙

Phenomenal! 🌟 That is the word that comes to mind when describing Dr. Tift’s visit as the motivational speaker for Mr. Jordan’s class!
Dr. Tift shared heartfelt advice, words of wisdom, and encouragement to inspire our students to chase their dreams and work toward their goals.
One powerful message she shared really stood out: “A dream is just a dream without effort.” 💭💪

We are proud to announce the 2026 Turner County Athletics Hall of Fame Class! 🎉

On Friday, October 16, 2026, Turner County Athletics will honor three outstanding individuals and two championship teams during a special halftime ceremony at Alan Hobby Field.

This year’s inductees represent the tradition, dedication, and excellence of Turner County Athletics:

⭐ Lennie Richardson — Football / Basketball / Track
⭐ Tasha Kellogg — Basketball Coach
⭐ Howard Jordan — Wrestling / Track / Football
🏈 1976 State Championship Football Team
⛳ 1992 State Championship Boys Golf Team

These outstanding athletes, coaches, and teams have each played a special role in the history of Turner County Athletics, and we are proud to recognize their accomplishments and lasting impact.

Before the game, everyone is invited to a Meet & Greet at 5:30 PM in the school cafeteria. The Hall of Fame Class will then be honored during halftime of the Turner County vs. Wheeler County football game at Alan Hobby Field.

🎓✨ TITAN ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: ZAMEER DAVIS ✨🎓 We are proud to celebrate Zameer Davis, Turner County High School’s Class of 2025 Valedictorian, as she continues to shine beyond graduation! While at Turner County High School, Zameer completed the Health Science pathway and earned her CNA certification, demonstrating both academic excellence and a strong commitment to service and learning. Zameer is now enrolled at Fort Valley State University, where she is majoring in Mathematics. She is also participating in undergraduate research and will have the exciting opportunity to present her research in Washington, D.C. Her research topic is: “Recent Trends in Wage Disparities Among Racial and Ethnic Women in the Healthcare Field (U.S.)” Zameer’s accomplishments reflect the power of hard work, determination, and taking advantage of every opportunity along the way. 🕵️‍♀️🔎 Fingerprint Investigation in Forensic Science! 🔎🕵️‍♂️ Our Forensic Science students have been getting hands-on with fingerprints! Students created enlarged prints of their own fingerprints on balloons and then examined them closely to identify the different fingerprint patterns and characteristics. It was a fun way for students to see that fingerprints are unique and to practice looking at evidence like a real forensic investigator! 🎈🖐️🔍 Who knew learning about fingerprints could be so much fun? Our students definitely enjoyed getting to investigate their own prints! #ForensicScience #FingerprintAnalysis #HandsOnLearning #FutureForensicScientists #LearningByDoing

Our Forensic Science students had a great opportunity to learn from someone who works in the field! Investigator Johnson from the Turner County Sheriff’s Department came to class and showed our students how to properly lift fingerprints. Students got to put what they have been learning about fingerprint analysis into practice and experience a little bit of what it is like to work with evidence at a crime scene. Hands-on learning like this makes forensic science come to life! 🧤🔍 A big THANK YOU to Investigator Johnson for taking the time to come share his knowledge and experience with our students!
