Our students had an electric experience on their recent trip to Georgia Power in Valdosta ⚡🔌

Students from multiple CTAE pathways got a firsthand look at the wide range of careers available—from linemen and warehouse operators to healthcare and IT professionals. Talk about options for the future!

They didn’t just listen—they experienced it! Students participated in live demonstrations, toured equipment, and even got hands-on with tools.

Opportunities like this help spark interests and power up future careers—we love to see it! 💡👏

Big things are happening in welding! 🔥🛠️

SRTC has launched a student AWS chapter on the Tifton campus—one of only a few in Georgia—and our TCHS AWS members attended their very first meeting!

Students had the incredible opportunity to learn from Mr. Robert Trudelle, a former Delta Airlines welding leader, who shared insights on the industry, discussed scholarships, and led an aluminum TIG welding demo. Even better—students got hands-on, one-on-one time to try it themselves!

They also heard from Jake Rice, owner of Advanced Millwright & Fabrication and a proud Turner County native, who shared his journey of building a successful welding business right here in our community. He even brought his welding rig and equipment for students to see up close!

We are so proud of how well our students represented TCHS—they did amazing and had a great time!

Special congratulations to Quentin Davis, who was elected Vice-Chair of the chapter! 👏 He continues to shine after earning an AWS scholarship last semester and is already making big moves in the welding world!

Our welding students have been BUSY 🔥🛠️ and we love to see it!

They recently completed repairs on Mr. Ben Baker’s trailer—replacing the decking boards, adding support to the gate, and securing the locking pins with chains. Talk about real-world skills in action!

Have a project that needs some TLC? We’d love to help! 💪

Three student-led businesses have advanced to the local finals:

• Monet’s Collection, founded by Sanaa Rushin
